The last time I saw cars aboard ferries was in Delaware in the US. Tuesday morning in Vancouver, we tried it first-hand for ourselves on the BC Ferries!
We rose bright and early to collect our rented car and embark on the road trip towards Vancouver Island. Well, actually only I awoke early because I call home every night these days (Singapore timing), which is really early morning in Vancouver. It seems that because of this, I always voluntarily become the alarm clock for my travelling partners, haha.
Anyhow, we were really excited knowing that the car was really new and very spacious. Js was perhaps the only one who worried since it was very wide, making turning radii hard to maneuver at times. But the journey was smooth and safe though he was not used to keeping to the RHS initially (we made a couple of turns into the wrong lane but fortunately there were no oncoming cars)! But it was all under control cos I was beside him and constantly on the alert as well. Anyway, I was also entrusted with the task of map-reader for the trip, whose skills impressed both driver and passengers at the end of the day! :)
Wall of fame shots of the day!
This is me happily munching on a nice big 7-eleven banana (69 cents each!) in the morning..
Our shiny red car! Car registration plates read "Beautiful British Columbia" in BC.
Breakfast at The Templeton - apparently the best breakfast in downtown Vancouver. Its interior is akin to that of Billy Bomber's, and tables are decorated with lots of pop-art postcards beneath the glass (Chris, I took this picture for you!)
That's stated as "hot chocolate with REAL whipped cream" on the menu, and Hui Lin's pretending to look horrified by my licking the cream!
The BC Ferry. Winds are really strong and cold up on the sundeck - and that's a very powerful local who managed to catch us in action during our jump!
